meet Ashley.
she is my dear friend and much like a sister.
as I sit here trying to come up with words to describe her,
all I can come up with is how amazing she is.
she is one of the most loving and loyal people I have ever met.
she will practically do just about anything for nearly just about anyone.
and I mean that whole-heart-idly.
so, when she told me her plans for a tattoo, I can't say I was surprised...
I knew Ashley wanted a tattoo for a long time.
if I'm not mistaken, she originally wanted a tattoo of a volleyball?
luckily, she waited and grew older and then made her decision :)
I have seen her struggle for the past year, emotionally.
her grandmother has been fighting cancer for at least that long.
in and out of chemo.
cancer free to cancerous stage four, again.
its been hard on the whole family...
to honor and give tribute to her grandmother,
Ashley decided to have her grandmother's signature tattooed to her wrist.
she also added a little dragonfly next to her signature
because, who doesn't love a cute dragonfly? :)
Ash checkin' out her fresh ink. |
a 'love' shout out to grandma :) |
so, obviously, asking her grandma to write her signature on a piece of paper for no good reason would raise an eyebrow or two...
however, although her grandma kind of knew what was going on,
she lives in Idaho and Ash lives in Utah.
so, a couple weeks after the ink dried,
the Snowball family headed up to Idaho to celebrate grandma's birthday.
her present?
a wrist wrapped in a bow :)

I was honored to show up last minute and take pictures of Ashley's tattoo.
a tattoo is forever.
kind of like the love between and granddaughter and her grandma.
Love you girl.
xoxoxo
